The Chamber Music Society of Lincoln Center is one of eleven constituents of Lincoln Center for the Performing Arts. The Chamber Music Society has its home in Alice Tully Hall at the Lincoln Center. Through its performance, educational, and recording/broadcast activities, it draws more people to chamber music than any other organization of its kind. The performing artists constitute a revolving multi-generational and international roster of the world’s finest chamber musicians. On September 11, 1969, Alice Tully Hall opened with the inaugural performance by the Chamber Music Society. The touring arm of Chamber Music Society of Lincoln Center presents on average 70 performances per season outside of NYC including concerts in North America, Europe, and Asia.
The international performers appearing in the Melbourne concert include Gilles Vonsattel, piano; Arnaud Sussman and Alexi Kenney, violins; Yura Lee and Richard O’Neill, violas; and David Requiro, cello. They will perform music of Mozart, Mendelssohn, and Richard Strauss in a program entitled “Young Masters.”
